Directly South and up the hill from our small branch in Haifa is the Baha’i World Center. It is spectacular! The founder, Baha’u’llah (1817-1892) lived in Iran. He said that God would send another prophet like Jesus or Muhammad. He was banned from Iran and declared that he (the Bab) was the prophet. He moved his headquarter to Haifa and was imprisoned for about 10 years in Acre under Ottoman Palestine rule.
Baha’u’llah taught the worth of all religions and the equality of all mankind. He taught that religion is progressively revealed over time by God through various prophets, including Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad.
The beautiful gardens in Haifa, with 19 landscaped terraces, reflect the hope that someday there will be a unified world order of peace and prosperity for all.
It was only by chance that we found these beautiful gardens. We had made appointments to meet and visit several Filipino care givers in Haifa and we arrived early. On the way to the first appoint we found the entrance to the Baha’i gardens.
After walking through the gardens, we found and met with Louisa and Ninie. Both are helping to take care of elderly people. Both have children in the Philippines. They do their best to stay active in the church. We always encourage them to keep reading the Book of Mormon, to say their prayers, and to use Come Follow Me.
